This senior role is for a food manufacturer supplying distribution, wholesale and retail customers across the UK.
About the role
This is a strategic leadership position with responsibility for sales performance, team development, commercial planning and selected international business activity. You will take ownership of the UK sales function, lead a team of sales professionals and work closely with operational and production colleagues to support profitable growth. The role is mainly home-based, with meetings in West Yorkshire as required and quarterly international travel for supplier, business development and company activity.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, develop and motivate a six-person sales team
- Own the UK sales function and drive profitable revenue growth
- Manage the sales budget and commercial performance
- Develop sales strategies aligned to business objectives
- Identify new UK and international business opportunities
- Work closely with operations, production and wider departments
- Run regular virtual team meetings and maintain business relationships
Candidate profile
- Experience as a Head of Sales, Sales Director or Senior Sales Manager
- Background in food manufacturing, food distribution or FMCG
- Proven record of sales growth and commercial management
- Experience leading high-performing sales teams
- Strong budget, profit and loss, communication and relationship skills
- Ability to travel internationally on a quarterly basis
