About the role
The role suits an organised transport professional who can own the night shift, use live operational information and keep routes moving safely and on time. You will be the key contact for drivers, warehouse colleagues, contractors and customers during the shift, making decisions that affect route performance, compliance and service delivery. The position needs someone calm under pressure who can balance people management with transport control.
Key responsibilities
- Lead night-shift transport operations and keep routes running smoothly
- Optimise drivers and vehicles against SLA and KPI targets
- Manage WTD, driver hours and tachograph compliance
- Brief and debrief drivers throughout the shift
- Investigate incidents and ensure accurate reporting
- Build strong working relationships with warehouse teams, drivers, contractors and customers
- Track performance, fuel efficiency and improvement opportunities
Candidate profile
- Experience in a fast-paced transport or logistics environment
- Strong organisation and confident decision making on shift
- Knowledge of driver compliance, tachograph and route performance requirements
- Comfortable using systems and real-time operational data
